February 2020 - NaSTA entries and more!
As a new year begins, we look ahead to everything happening with LSTV in 2020.
We were slaving away in the media school dungeon, perfecting our entries for the 2020 National Student Television awards in April. We're really proud of the great content we've made and are excited to show them all to you soon...
The return of edit week could only mean one thing, 'The Edit Suite Life' coming back to your screens with all the chaotic energy you'd expect.
This year we got up to all sorts of shenanigans, from playing total wipe-out with the office chairs to playing 'Animal Crossing' and even Marco deleting Best Broadcaster.
This month we've also continued to cover the ongoing UCU strikes affecting students across the country. We spoke to the UCU General Secretary Jo Grady about what's been happening. Society Swap has also made a return, filming some great episodes with LUU Volleyball and LUU Table Tennis societies.
February also means it's LeadLUU time. We put on a live stream letting students get to know all of the candidates a bit better.
We've also had some awards success this month. We won the PwC Opportunity challenge final in London, beating societies from across the country to win the £5000 prize and bagged ourselves a comically large cheque. While Dad Joke Syndrome, a short film we made last year, went on to win in the comedy and entertainment category in the RTS Yorkshire awards. We were also nominates in the Factual catergory for Headingley AFC: From The Sidelines
If you want to get involved in the society, join our members' page to keep updated with everything that's going on here.
