  • Do I need any prior experience?
Absolutely not! We offer regular training sessions to get you up to speed with all of our equipment
  • Do I need to be a University of Leeds student?
You do not! Membership is open to any Leeds-based student - whether you're at Uni of, Beckett, Leeds Arts, Leeds Conservatoire or Trinity

Not at all - our members come from a range of courses, including History, Computer Science, English, Engineering and Theatre Studies
  • Can LSTV help me develop a career in media?
The skills you gain at LSTV can take you far! Our alumni have gone on to work for some of the UK's biggest media companies, including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and IMG We've even produced some massive names - Alice Levine, James Cooper and Jamie Morton, co-hosts of the award-winning podcast My Dad Wrote A Porno, first met as LSTV members. Emma Mackey, star of Sex Education and Barbie, even appeared in our 2016 short film Badger_Lane! Current members have the opportunity to network with our incredible alumni at talks throughout the year and at our annual Alumni Weekend, held in November
  • How much time are members expected to commit to LSTV?
The way we produce content is quite ad hoc - meaning it's up to you how much or little you do! You can sign up to crew another member's project, or choose to lead your own
  • Where is the LSTV studio?
Our studio is on the first floor of Leeds University Union, LS2 9JZ. Feel free to drop by to get to know our committee or ask any burning questions!
